Expense Inbox: Job Numbers

Job numbers are how Expense Inbox knows which job in Jobber to attach your expense to. Including the job number in your email's subject line ensures accurate expense tracking.

How to Format Job Numbers

The system is flexible and recognizes many formats:
  • #235
  • Job #235
  • Job 235
  • #235 - Receipt from Home Depot
  • Receipt for job #235
The Key Rule: Include a hash symbol (#) followed by the job number, or the word "Job" followed by the number.

Where to Find Job Numbers

In Jobber, every job has a unique job number. You can find it:

  • In the job title at the top of the job page
  • In the job list view
  • In the Jobber mobile app
  • In client communication emails from Jobber

What If I Forget the Job Number?

If you forget to include the job number, don't worry! The system will:
  1. Try to Extract It - Check if the job number appears in the receipt itself
  2. Ask You via Email - Send you an email requesting the missing job number

Multiple Jobs, One Receipt?

If you need to split a receipt across multiple jobs:

  • Forward the receipt once for each job
  • Use the correct job numbers in each subject line
  • Adjust the amounts in Jobber manually after expense creation
